purple mica shift

purple mica shift, originally uploaded by coltpixy.

Working my way down the list of colors I can get to work for me. I like the way these purple ones came out. The larger ones are 1 inch wide.

  1. Nice, nice, nice! Love the shade of purple. I think the heart with the flowers is my fave.

May I ask, do you sand them? And what grits do you use? I can only find 400 & 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper in the local stores. Going to have to special order online if I want anything higher.

  2. Thank you intothedawn! Yes I sand them with 6 different grits of wet/dry sandpaper.

I get the higher grit wet/dry sandpaper at the local auto supply store (Advance Auto). Any auto parts store that sells paint supplies will carry it up to 2000 grit.

I have to order 99% of my supplies online, including polymer clay. I live in a very small town.

  3. OH! I never would have thought to try an auto parts store; I'll have to check that out & see if I can find some. Thanks for the tip!
