Deck has been reshuffled

I was at the hospital at 5 am this morning. Unfortunately even with the antibiotics my white cell count only went down 3 points. It is still too high to risk surgery. The chance of possible infection would be too great. So after laying there for 3 hours with an i.v. in my arm I got to come home with instructions.

Now instead of getting the impacted wisdom tooth removed after my shoulder surgery, it will have to be done first. After that another blood count will be done and if the white cell count is still too high after that my surgeon is sending me to an infection specialist. :(
Guess it is a good thing my shoulder got so bad I wanted to get it fixed or I would not have known about any of this until the infection had possibly spread to my bloodstream.

Just trying to look on the bright side.

  2. Oh sweetie, what a disappointment! I am so sorry you couldn't get your shoulder taken care of, I know you're in a lot of pain with that. But I'm glad they discovered that infection before it got worse and caused even more problems! Sending you lots of hugs.

But really good that they are dealing with the infection.

  11. Hope the infection is improving and you on your way to moving forward with the surgery. It's awful to have to wait but better to not mess around with the possibility of cross infection. Get better soon.
