New toy: Extruder

The only extruder I have ever used is an old kemper plunger type that my husband had to make an attachment for me to be able to use it. I don't use an extruder very often so I never thought much about getting a new one. Recently I saw a Walnut Hollow extruder listed at ClayAlley.com and loved the idea of one with a built in handle. Decided to try it out and boy am I glad I did!

It is easy to use, easy to clean and did I mention it is easy to use? I love new tools!

  1. I gave the plunger one a try only once and tossed it to my kids for their play dough. I have the Makins green one now and it works great but I'm loving the way that handle looks even easier. Wondering are the discs exchangable between the two?

  2. Cool! I love having an extruder to play with, so many things you can do with it.

When/If my Makin's extrude dies, I'm trying this Walnut Hollow one!

  4. Now that looks like a fun extruder! I started with the plunger which I gave up on right away and switched to a makins. I too might get one of these toys if my makins dies but hopefully won't have to for a while. I called it a toy when in fact it is more of a necessity when working with clay so I'm so glad you are enjoying your new tool!

  5. Ooh, that looks awesome! I have a plunger too and I gave up after my one try with it...I could not get it to work for me.

I might have to give this one a try!
