My new camera case Handmade by me

Earlier this year I bought a new camera and wanted a new case for it. I could not find anything I just had to have so I started browsing the Vintage aisles of etsy. I normally do not alter my vintage finds. However, while browsing I found this new, still in the original box 1960's reel case. For film reels. I was born in the 60's so it felt like it was meant to be.

I thought how perfect! Film, camera.... get it? I loved the idea and set out to find a pretty fabric with perhaps flowers or dragonflies (I collect all things dragonfly). While browsing I found cotton fabric printed with rolls of camera film. Again, perfect!! I bought both months ago but never took the time to make my camera case until today.

All padded and lined with the cool fabric. I love it! Not sure if you can tell in this photo but there is a compartment for extra batteries, accessories, and a pocket for extra SD cards. Someday soon I am going to make a matching camera strap cover then it will be complete. I think I might have time to get to it in December.

100th snail giveaway!

I am now working on snail #108. As promised I am giving away the 100th snail and here she is.

Vadoma the fortune teller snail
Vadoma the fortune teller snail

The base is from a limb I saved from a Cherry tree that was stuck by lightning in my mom's yard 5 years ago. One other snail has this same base. I have covered the bottom with felt dots to prevent it from scratching any furniture it is placed on.
The snail and mushroom cap holding the gazing ball were hand sculpted by me. The beautiful rug and the tarot cards were made by GreenGypsies. Click her name to visit her etsy shop. It is full of amazing things!

You could win Vadoma.

To enter just reply to this post. You do not have to have a blogger account to reply but you must use a username. Anonymous replies with no username will not qualify to enter.

For extra entries... Let me know if you follow this blog. Promote this giveaway on a networking site like your blog, twitter, facebook (in a public post), G+, plurk, etc. Just leave the link to the post so I will know. Each one will count as another entry.

Romain the racer

Ever know one of those guys who is always souping up his shell to make it go faster? Romain is one of those guys. When he is not on the road pushing past speed limits he can be found pulled up underneath a mushroom cap in his yard working on the engine.

You have to be careful what you choose to store polymer clay in. Uncured polymer clay can react with certain plastics. I have 12 of these tackle boxes that I have used for about 7 years now with no problems. I have them all sorted by colors and shades of a color. When you buy similar boxes you will find them much more affordable in the sporting goods (fishing) department than you will in a craft section.

Today is a milestone

Today I am sculpting my 100th snail. It is the one I will give away right here on my blog later this month.
Here are just a few of the snails that I have made over the past year. The ideas seem to be endless and I have a long list of more to make.
